Healthy Neck & Shoulders
This class is formatted to meet the needs of our everyday stress! Melt away the tension in your shoulders and experience more ease and flexibility in your neck. Based on the principles of Pilates, this class will build supportive upper body strength while helping to maintain the natural alignment and flexibility of the neck and spine. Incorporating resistive bands, foam rollers, and weights makes this a great workout as well. The reduction of headaches and jaw problems may be an added bonus! Limit 10 per class.
Postural Pilates
Designed by a rehabilitation specialist with vast knowledge of the body's anatomy and natural alignment, this class can only improve your posture! With this beginner's level class using various small equipment and Pilates mat exercises you will increase your overall flexibility, learn where core strength comes from and know how to maintain healthy postural alignment and strength. Look and feel better! Limit 10 per class.
Baby & Me Pilates
$20 per class or package of 6 for $100.
Taught by a Women's Specialist and Pilates instructor, a safe and effective way to keep mom and baby healthy and have fun at the same time. Appropriate for babies 6 weeks to "crawlers". If you are interested in this class please contact nicole@sdrehab.com.
Prenatal Pilates
$20 per class or package of 6 for $100.
Taught by a Women's Health Specialist and Pilates instructor, this course is a safe way to keep your body in shape throughout your pregnancy. A limited class size and expert instruction allows you to safely maintain your flexibility, increase core strength and pelvic floor muscle activation while avoiding common discomforts such as low back pain. All participants in prenatal pilates must have a signed release form from their physician in order to participate. A prior knowledge of Pilates is not required.

Bones For Life® to Chicago!

The Bones for Life® (BFL) program consists of 90 fast-acting movement processes. The safe, weight-bearing movements challenge bones to be strong and sturdy while improving balance and coordination. Upright posture is developed through simple tools that facilitate controlled resistance to pressure like using a strip of cloth or pushing a wall. Major activities of daily living are organically fostered throughout the exercises leading to natural integration in life. This program appropriate for Health Care and Allied Health Professionals; Persons wishing to improve their own posture, alignment, bone health and activity; or Individuals wanting to become a certified Bones for Life® Teacher. Introduction to Meditation
Saturdays November 10th and 17th from 9-11am Cost $85 for two day or One day option for $65
Discover the benefits of Meditation or enhance your existing meditation practice by joining with others. This introductory workshop will explore various sitting postures, mindfulness meditation instructions, and body awareness lessons based on the Feldenkrais Method. Sapce is limited, please call to register to save a space. Additional weekly meditation times will be announced.
Runner's Workshop
Saturday May 10th from 8-11am for $65

Running has been proven to decrease stress levels and maintain cardiovascular health, but may also lead to knee and hip pain or injury. Whether you are a running novice or you are training for the Chicago Marathon, our workshop can help you to optimize your running technique and help you to keep your body healthy, strong and free from injury!

Studies show that breast cancer survivors are left unaware of the long-term results of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation on their bodies, and need to take lifelong precautions to avoid problems such as lymphedema. This one-on-one program provides the treatment and guidance needed while dealing with potential post-treatment problems.

Over the course of two days, health and fitness professionals will learn to successfully and confidently guide breast cancer survivors through a safe exercise and fitness program, while learning how to care for the physical and emotional effects patients experience during breast cancer treatment.
